Santander

27 April, 2021

Banco Santander is committed to the society and its mission to help companies and families thrive, contributing to the development and wellness of the community and fighting against climate change. In this sense, Santander defined 11 Responsible Banking goals which reflect the bank’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and to make sure that its banking operations are responsible.

Santander decided to support Associação Sara Carreira, because the Association’s goals are aligned with one of the main points of its sustainability policy, Education and Knowledge, which are deemed by the bank as the driving force of society. Pursuant to an arrangement made with Associação Sara Carreira, Santander will provide multiple grants, especially involving social and economic support, for people older than 16, and international mobility grants to allow for students to go to a university in Latin America. The bank will also promote employment initiatives.

Banco Santander is one of the private companies that supports Education the most. With Santander Universities, a global, unique and pioneer programme, the bank offers training, entrepreneurship and employment opportunities to the university community. This programme has granted more than 200,000 scholarship, internships and entrepreneurship programmes between 2019 and 2021.
